Before Mold RemediationPort St. Lucie & The Treasure Coast We Test For Mold.
Others Remove It.
Mold Shark does not perform mold remediation or mold removal, in Port St. Lucie or anywhere else. We are the independent, licensed assessor you bring in before the remediation company to define the problem, and after it to verify the work. If you are searching for mold remediation, this is the step that comes first.
The Order Of Operations
Why The Assessment Comes First.
A company that diagnoses the problem and also sells the cleanup is quoting its own work. The bigger the finding, the bigger the invoice. An independent assessment takes that pressure off the answer, because no repair invoice depends on what we find.
Sometimes the answer is that no remediation is needed: a leak to repair and a wall to dry. When work is needed, you get a written protocol that any licensed remediator can price, so you are comparing bids on the same job instead of three different opinions.
Florida Statute 468.8419
Florida licenses mold assessment and mold remediation separately. A licensed assessor may not remediate a structure they assessed within the previous 12 months, and a licensed remediator may not assess a structure they remediated within the previous 12 months. Mold Shark goes further than the statute asks: we never remediate at all.

Who Does What
Three Steps. We Do The First And The Last.
Mold Shark
Independent Assessment
A full inspection with moisture mapping and thermal imaging, sampling where the evidence justifies it, and accredited lab results. If cleanup is needed, you receive a written remediation protocol: where the contamination is, how far containment should extend and what the work has to achieve.
A Separate Licensed Company
Remediation
You hire a Florida-licensed mold remediator of your choice. Mold Shark does not perform this work, on any property, at any price. Because the protocol is already written, every company you call is bidding on the same scope.

Clearance Testing
Before the walls are closed and the final payment is released, we return to inspect and test the work area against the clearance criteria in the protocol. The company that did the work should never be the one grading it.

Hiring The Cleanup
Six Questions For Any Remediation Company.
Are You A Florida-Licensed Mold Remediator?
Ask for the MRSR license number and look it up on the Florida DBPR website before anyone starts work.
Will You Work From An Independent Protocol?
A remediator who writes the scope and then prices it is quoting their own diagnosis.
Is The Moisture Source Being Fixed First?
Cleanup without the repair is temporary. The leak, the drainage or the humidity problem comes first.
What Containment Will You Set Up?
The work area should be isolated so disturbed material does not travel through the rest of the building.
Who Performs The Clearance Testing?
It should be an independent assessor, hired by you, with no stake in the result.
Is The Scope And Price In Writing?
Get the full scope, the price and the clearance requirement on paper before the first wall is opened.
Straight Answers
Remediation Questions, Answered Plainly.
No. Mold Shark performs mold assessment only: inspection, testing, written remediation protocols and clearance testing. We hold a Florida Mold Assessor license (MRSA3341) and a Florida Mold Remediator license (MRSR3507), and we still never perform remediation. That is a choice, not a limitation, and it is the reason our findings carry no conflict of interest.
